Privacy policy
What follows is the whole of it – what Pelaris Editions holds about you, why it is held, who else sees it, and how to get it changed or removed.
What is collected
Three categories. Order details – your name, delivery address, phone number and email address, without which an order cannot be packed, couriered or discussed. Order history – what was bought and when, which is what makes a return or a query checkable. And technical data, meaning the standard information a browser sends to load a page.
What is not collected
No card details are collected or stored. Pelaris Editions does not accept cards, so there is nothing of that kind to hold. UPI payments are completed in your own banking application; the PIN never reaches this store.
Cookies
Cookies here are the essential kind only – the ones that let a cart persist and a checkout complete. No advertising or profiling cookies are used.
Who it is shared with
Information is shared only with service providers needed to operate the store – delivery partners who need the address to deliver, the payment processor, and the hosting provider – or where sharing is required by law. It is not sold, rented or passed on for marketing.
How long it is kept
Retention is tied to purpose: records stay while they are reasonably needed for returns, queries and accounts, and for whatever period the law requires. There is no fixed calendar figure beyond that.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data held about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted where nothing in law requires it to be kept, and to withdraw consent where the processing is based on consent. These rights come from the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP 2023) and the Information Technology Act, 2000 (IT Act 2000). Requests go to [email protected] with an Order ID.
Grievance contact
Grievance contact for privacy complaints: [email protected]. Pelaris Editions is a small business and has not appointed a separate named officer; privacy complaints are dealt with directly by the person responsible for operating Pelaris Editions. Complaints are acknowledged within one business day.
Security
Pages are served over HTTPS and order records are reachable only by the people who fulfil and support orders. We will not claim the arrangement is impregnable – no system is.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version is published on this page.
If something goes wrong
If order data is exposed in a way that could affect you, we will contact the people affected at the email address on the order and describe what happened and what we have done about it.
Accuracy
If an address or a phone number on an order is wrong, tell us before dispatch and we will correct it. After dispatch the courier holds the address and a change may not be possible.
